HELP PAGE - FORMATTING TAGS |
||||
| The following information provides a number
of formatting options to enhance the pages of your web site. If you have any questions
what so ever, please send
them to us. It's important to keep in mind that most of the settings for building your web with the 123click facility have already been preset by the system. If you are ever unsure of something, just leave as is. We have selected settings that will produce an acceptable web site first time around. All you have to provide is the administration information which allows you to modify your web site whenever you like. Formatting of Body Text: The body text is what you enter as the contents of your web page. If you require special formatting such as bolding etc, you need to use the following TAGS. These are very easy to use and just tell the computer what to do and where to do it. Lets say you want to make a word or sentence bold To do this you would use the BOLD TAG which consists of a start tag like this [b] and a finish tag like this [/b] When your site is built, the program will bold everything between the two tags. In fact if we entered the above into the contents area of one of our web pages the output would look like this: "To do this you would use the BOLD TAGs which consists of a start tag like this and a finish tag like this" You'll notice that the tags have been removed but the text which was in between has been formatted as bold. It's very simple. As long as you remember that all you are doing is telling the computer "what" to do and "where" to do it. Tags should be placed up against the start and finish words so that no space is left when tag is removed. All available tags work in exactly the same way. Tags available at the present time include the following. More will be added. Bold [b]BOLD[/b] Italics [i]ITALICS[/I] Underlining [u]UNDERLING[/u] Two Column Table: To allow images to be aligned with text, it is possible to create a one row by two column table. An example is show below:
To create this table you use the Tags [co] for where Column 1 starts and [/co] where the first column ends. To create the second column (Column 2) you place [ct] where it starts and [/ct] where the column ends. An actual example follows: [co]Located on the tourist drive this Bed and Breakfast is only an hourís drive from the Sydney CBD through the historic hawkesbury region to the foothills of the Blue Mountains. The accommodation is perfect and you will return many times over the life of your travel. At no stage would we consider this stay complete without a tour of the surrounding region which is said by many to be the best in the world. Come and see what you've been missing. [/co][ct][IM]2[/IM][/ct] The above example will produce the following:
Including Images: To include an image or images within the body of your web site pages you once again need to use a special TAG. In this case they are [img] and [/img]. Or if you have used the image upload facility provided by the 123click facility the tags are [im] and [/im]. These two sets of tags look similar but both have important difference. The first group actually calls images from anywhere on the internet. The following shows how to use these tags. To call an image, you firstly need to upload the image or have access to the image online. If you don't have such access, the 123click facility does offer an image uploader which is explained further on. If the image you wish to call is already uploaded, all you need to know is it's full URL. For example, the following URL "http://www.biz-au.com/images/123clickbanner.gif" is used to call the main graphic associated with the 123click Web Site. If we actually wanted to include that image into a web page using the web site building facilities we would use the following format. [img]http://www.biz-au.com/images/123clickbanner.gif[/img] As you can see from the above, you just surround the image URL with a start [img] and finish [/img] tag. It's that simple. You can call as many images as you like using this set of tags. Image Uploader Facility: Images up to around 50000kb can be uploaded using the 123click upload facility. A maximum space of 5000000kb is considered adequate for the needs of most businesses using the 123click facility. Additional space is available upon application. The upload facility requires that you create an account. This simply provides you with a User Id and Password that will allow you to upload images from your computer whenever you need to. The facility also allows you to keep track of all the images you've uploaded and allows you to modidy or delete images whenever the need arises. All images uploaded with this facility are given a number which you must use in conjunction with the special tags below. This approach makes it much faster to include your own images. Once you have uploaded your images with the 123click upload facility, you can call them into your web pages with a modified special tag. The following example should help explain. [IM]8[/IM] The above will call image 8 into your web page. If you wish to call image 20 you would use [IM]20[/IM] and so on. Whenever you upload an image with the 123click upload facility, you will be shown the image number and tag to use to call that image. These details will form part of your image details and there is no need to remember them. Including URLS: Because of security issues, the only way to include a clickable external web link within the body of your web pages is by once again using a special tag. To make a link like http://www.profitcentre.com clickable from within your web pages you would need to use [url] and [/url] The format would look like this [url]http://www.profitcentre.com[/url] That's it. Nothing to it. Including a clickable Email Address: Exactly the same procedure is used as with including an external URL except that you will use the special tags [email] and [/email] The format would look like this [email]admin@biz-au.com[/email] Font Size and Colour: The following tags only influence the appearance of the fonts in the main panel of your web pages. You'll notice that both colour and size can be changed at the same time. [fc1]Red[/fc1]Font Size One [fc2]Blue[/fc2]Font Size Two [fc3]Green[/fc3]Font Size Three [fc4]Orange[/fc4]Font Size Four [fc5]ff0066[/fc5]Font Size Five [fc6]ccffcc[/fc6]Font Size Six [fc7]cc9933[/fc7]Font Size Seven More to come..... More TAGS are planned to allow even more options. We consider the above to be the most appropriate particularly for novice users. Certainly if you have a special requirement, please feel free to let us know. |
